Claiming to be Jews (the people of God), the Synagogue of Satan persecutes those who follow Jesus the Messiah (the actual people of God). Jesus refers to them as “liars” since, in actuality, they have surrendered their identity as “true” Jews by rejecting the Jewish Messiah.
