By now most Americans know that CNN is home to Worst Journalist of the Year, Don Lemon (Worst Journalist of the Year) – but what you might not know is that in the same year (2014), CNN gave an award for Best Journalist of the Year to a one Claas Relotius. Claas is (…was) a reporter for German magazine Der Spiegel, where he wrote sixty stories. After a colleague became suspicious during a gig on the US/Mexico border, Claas confessed to, you know, just making everything up.
