Putin: ISIL rise provoked by outside interference
The Russian president says there was no terrorism in countries where ISIL is currently present until outside forces interfered without the authority of the United Nations.
Vladimir Putin described the consequences of such interference as serious. He made the remarks during a meeting with secretaries of the security councils of the BRICS countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Putin said tackling organized crime, terrorism, and financial crimes are important issues on the agenda of the BRICS block and the international community as a whole.

Iraqi forces launch operations in Anbar and Salahuddin provinces against ISIL
The Iraqi army, backed by Sunni tribesmen and Shia volunteers is attacking the ISIL terrorists on different fronts in a bid to retake Anbar and Salahuddin provinces. The operation was launched on Tuesday to liberate the city of Ramadi which was captured by the ISIL terrorists on May 17. Press TV correspondent Altaf Ahmed reports from the strategic regions in Anbar which not only connect Iraq to Saudi Arabia but are located on the outskirts of Iraq’s holy city of Karbala.

Some 200 Takfiris killed in attacks on Raqqah, Palmyra outskirts
Syria’s air force says its fighter jets have killed at least 190 ISIL terrorists in a series of airstrikes across the country on Tuesday.
The Syrian warplanes pounded more than 160 ISIL targets on the outskirts of the ancient city of Palmyra and other areas in the east of Homs province. The army says some 50 Takfiri terrorists were killed and their weapons and vehicles were destroyed in the raids. Warplanes also carried out air raids against the ISIL stronghold of Raqqah, north of Syria. About 140 terrorists were reportedly killed in bombardment of the city. The terrorist group’s positions in the vicinity of the city of Tabqah in Raqqah province also came under attack. The Terrorist group captured Raqqa in August 2014 and declared the city as its capital.

Saudi warplanes hit coastal military base in Hudaydah province of Yemen
Saudi warplanes pound various positions across Yemen. In the latest attacks, Saudi fighter jets targeted a coastal military base in Jabaneh district in the province of Hudaydah, causing casualties. A Republican guard’s academy was previously targeted in the province. Warplanes also pounded two schools and a medical center in the provinces of Aden and Hajjah, killing at least six people. Aerial bombardments of southern Ta’izz province also left nine civilians including three women and two children dead. Nearly 4-thousand people, mostly civilians, have been killed since Riyadh began its onslaught on March 26.
