There’s no price discovery anymore by the market, governments imposing prices on the market
Dr. Philippa Malmgren is the founder of the DRPM Group, a financial firm based in London. Her clients include many investment banks, fund managers, hedge funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, pension funds, and corporations. She served as financial market advisor in the White House and on the National Economic Council from 2001 to 2002, where she was responsible for all financial market issues for the U.S. President. Moreover, she has been a member of the U.S. President’s Working Group on Financial Markets (a.k.a. the “Plunge Protection Team”). Previously, she was the Deputy Head of Global Strategy at UBS Warburg in London and the Chief Currency Strategist for Bankers Trust. She headed the Global Investment Management business for Bankers Trust in Asia and has been a senior consultant to Deutsche Bank.
Dr, Malmgren has a B.A. from Mount Vernon College and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the London School of Economics. She completed the Harvard Program on National Security. The World Economic Forum in Davos named her a Global Leader for Tomorrow in 2000. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Chatham House, the Economic Club of New York and the Institute for International Strategic Security. She serves on several advisory boards and working groups, for example, the British Ministry of Defence Working Group on Global Strategic Trends, the Greater London Authority Infrastructure Advisory Board, the Legatum Institute at MIT and Indiana University School of Public Policy and Environmental Affairs. She has lectured at INSEAD, TSINGHUA University, Duke University, West Point, Oxford University, and the London School of Economics.
