Ukraine’s Yatseniyuk Meeting With US Oligarchy, IMF This Week
by Brandon Turbeville, Activist Post:
Fresh on the heels of the international disgrace known as the G7 meeting conducted in Bavaria, a new meeting of austerity proponents and oligarchs will take place on American soil when Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniyuk arrives to discuss “Ukrainian territorial integrity” and “economic cooperation” with leaders of the United States and the IMF.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from June 8th to June 10th.
Ukraine Minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko is also part of the delegation.
Yatseniyuk is scheduled to meet with the “leadership of the United States” as well as US Speaker of the House John Boehner and representatives from the US Democratic and Republican parties. He is also scheduled to meet US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz and US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew.
Yatseniyuk is also scheduled to meet with Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and other representatives from the IMF as well as the UN Under-Secretary General Jeffrey D. Feltman.
Interestingly enough, in addition to meeting with the American “Ukrainian community,” Yatseniyuk will be speaking at the American Jewish Committee’s Global Forum.
According to the Ukrainian junta’s own website,
The economic and financial component of the planned talks will address topical issues of cooperation with the IMF and other international institutions and the promotion of further support for Ukraine with its partners. Among other things, we will focus on the preparation of the Ukrainian-American investment conference, scheduled for July 13, 2015 in Washington, DC.
The political agenda of the talks will include issues of strengthening international solidarity around the territorial integrity and security of Ukraine.
An economic and financial components of the negotiations will concern urgent issues of cooperation with the IMF and other financial institutions and promotion of support of Ukraine from its partners. Among the issues raised there will be discussed preparation to the Ukrainian-U.S. Investment Conference due on July 13, 2015 in Washington.
The political agenda of the talks will include issues of strengthening international solidarity around the territorial integrity and security of Ukraine.
Translated into real terms, the meetings will involve discussions regarding greater austerity measures to be implemented in Ukraine and the growing tensions with the DPR/LPR/Novorossiya/Russia as a result of the Ukrainian fascist coup backed by the United States and NATO.
Austerity measures have already been imposed upon the people of Ukraine. However, it has long been reported that plans to implement even greater measures of austerity are in the works, complete with plans to privatize industries and services, as well as the goal of cutting social safety net benefits and privatizing and asset stripping the country’s natural resources.
Fledgling nations like the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), however, have rejected austerity and IMF dependence in favor of independence, greater ties with Russia, and nationalized banks, providing three reasons the Washington oligarchs, NATO, Kiev Fascists, and IMF financiers so desire to see the DPR and LPR destroyed.
